# SQLCipher update to target Sqlite version 3.37

SQLite version 3.36 has the below vulnerability:

I would like to know tentative dates on when a SQLCipher update to target Sqlite version 3.37 would be released.

Hello @AkshayP

The CVE in reference is limited in scope to an extension to the command line shell. SQLCipher does not include this extension and is not affected by this. While we do not have a specific release date yet, our next release will be based on SQLite 3.37.2 and is targeting mid first quarter of this year.
