Born a techie, was taking apart and learning how to hack landline phones and systems as a young teen in the 80’s. Learned by riding on my days off with engineers maintaining one-way pager systems, selling and troubleshooting AMPS phones (too big to carry yet) in the late 80’s/early 90s. Climbed a 175’ tower as a teenager because I love antennas (and I was crazy enough I guess!). Part of the first group to beta test a mobile CDMA network including first handoff testing between 2 switches rather than just two towers. Beta tested and helped test and develop web hosting automation software used by millions today while I owned a hosting service (before Godaddy existed). Owned racks of servers in datacenters and when needed, living there in the cold windy rooms for up to 30 hours at a time when things went wrong.
Today I have kids and a consulting business, I have rehabbed and flipped about 500 houses over the past 10 years but my love for technology and being an old fashioned “nerd” will never go away!
