Codebook for macOS 3.3.1 Released

Today we have a plethora of adjustments and improvements available in the latest update of Codebook for macOS, version 3.3.1. Many of these fixes are in direct response to feedback we’ve received from our customers, so many thanks to them for helping to improve the app for all of us.

Changes in this version

  • Support for macOS 10.13 High Sierra
  • Adds an Exclude field to the Password Generator for excluding characters
  • Moves the exclude-similar-characters switch under Advanced Options in the Password Generator
  • Corrects resumption of regular entry navigation and selection after Search field is cleared
  • Ensures License Window is closed and Main Window is activated upon license install via link for trial-expired customers
  • Fixes escape key cancellation of edits to field values
  • Fixes putting newly added fields directly into edit mode
  • Fixes some edge case crashes in WiFi sync
  • Fixes race condition when copying and pasting entries
  • Fixes failure to update category label on entry view after category name change
  • Secret Agent Action fields now support arbitrary text
  • Secret Agent window will reload the entry it was previously displaying to show any updates
  • Fixes split view improperly resizing when displaying a note entry in certain cases
  • Fixes incorrect edit toggling behavior when no entry is selected
  • Fixes updated date showing at the bottom of the window when no entry is selected
  • Fixes newly added entry not being selected properly in some cases
  • Fixes incorrectly not ending editing when adding a new category
  • Password Generator maintains separate preference for Diceware length

If you purchased Codebook (or STRIP) in the Mac App Store:

  1. Visit this link on your Mac
  2. Click the “View in the Mac App Store” button
  3. It will launch the App Store app and display the Codebook page
  4. Click the Install or Update button below the Codebook icon
  5. When installation completes click the Open button, or launch Codebook from Applications or Spotlight

If you purchased Codebook directly from Zetetic (outside the Mac App Store):

  1. Download the update
  2. If Codebook is still running, quit the app
  3. Unzip the file, drag Codebook to your Mac’s Applications folder
  4. If prompted whether to replace the existing version, choose Replace
  5. Launch Codebook from Applications or Spotlight
