Codebook 5.1 is now available for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows.

This morning we released version 5.1 for Codebook. This version requires an update to Codebook on all platforms. Please update to the latest version if you encounter an error using the Sync feature.

About this update
When we released version 5.0, some customers ran into a crash on login because the update failed to upgrade the encrypted database. This was due to an historical data issue in which some databases contained malformed or missing timestamp values. While we worked quickly to release updates that fixed the login issues, we still needed to address the roots of the problem or it could come back (for instance when restoring a database from an older backup). Version 5.1 includes some database schema updates that should prevent this problem from causing any more trouble in the future. Because it updates the database schema, you will need to update Codebook on all your devices to continue using the Sync feature, whether that’s with Codebook Cloud, Desktop WiFi, whichever service you use.
