Codebook for iOS 5.3.4 - iPad improvements, Camera attachments fix

Codebook for iOS 5.3.4 is now available

This release includes fixes for multiple crashes on iPad along with a crash which was causing the inability to add attachments directly from your camera on both iPhone and iPad.

It also includes an adjustment to the default display behavior for the side navigation panel on iPad. We initially embraced the default behavior in iOS 26 of allowing the side navigation panel to hide automatically, but after receiving feedback from users (and in our own usage), we generally found it to be an annoyance – requiring additional taps/swipes to re-access the side navigation panel and select a new category/view. Because of this, we’ve changed the default behavior to always display the side navigation panel on iPad since there is plenty of screen real estate for it. If you prefer the collapsing behavior, we’ve added a preference to Settings > Preferences > Automatically hides side panel.

Changes in this version:

  • Fixes crash when trying to add attachment from camera
  • [iPad] Defaults to always showing side navigation panel. New preference in Settings > Preferences to automatically hide side panel.
  • [iPad] Fixes crash when deleting only entry in search results when side navigation panel isn’t visible
  • [iPad] Fixes crash on first Codebook Cloud sync when side navigation panel is collapsed
