Google Drive permissions

Hi,

It would be best if the permissions required by codebook in order to back up to google drive would only allow it access to the Zetetic folder and not all the drives content like it does now ?

Is it possible to limit the permissions?

Thanks for using Codebook and posting to the discussion forum.

The Google Drive API does include a scope that would only allow Codebook to only access files that it’s created, but there are scenarios where users need to manually move their encrypted databases into place and if we used this more restrictive scope, Codebook would be unable to sync in this situation.

We’ve been working on improvements to the current sync system, and may revisit using the more restrictive scope in the future.

Is this still applicable with 4.0. It would be nicer if the permissions did not include “See, edit, create and delete all of your Google Drive files”

This is still applicable with the 4.0.0 release. We may revisit using the more restrictive scope in a future release. We do appreciate the additional feedback, and are still tracking this as an option internally.
