FIELD LABELS
Creating or editing an entry in Codebook, the Add Field picklist gives me 2 choices that seem to have exactly the same label (“Account”).
I’ve been sanitary about creating new labels on one and only one instance of Codebook, so not sure how this came about.
AUTOCOMPLETE SUGGESTIONS
When I enter my email address in the field labeled “Email”, the autocomplete list offers the same email address twice.
The duplicate suggestions are identical unless there’s an invisible character.
I’m sure I’m talking about two separate issues here!
I‘d love to get rid of all the apparent duplication, but don’t know how best to go about that.
Thanks!

@jtclayton Thanks for writing in to us about Codebook and for posting this to Discuss. Can you check the “mode” on the “Account” label as it’s possible that you have a “Plain Text” and a “Number” mode for that label.
As for the duplicate email address, unless there is a capital letter in one of the values that should be lower-case, the only way that you should get a duplicate email address in the email field, is if there is a space at the end of one of the entries. One thing you can try is to create a test entry with the “email” label/field and try to select either one and save/edit, then click Edit and double click in the Email filed and if only the value is highlighted then you are ok. Next, try the other value and do the same thing and if the second value is the offender, when you double-click in the Email field, you will see a highlighted space at the end of the email address. Now just delete the space and click Edit and you should then be good to go. If you find that this is the issue, you can use the Search box at the top of the window to find the offending entries by doing the following:
Make sure all options are checked in the dropdow options and then enter your email address and all Entries with the email address should show in the Search Results(middle window), then add a space at the end of your email address in the search field and the Entries with the email with the space will show up and you can then fix those entries. Let us know if that fixes up the issue.

Oh. Those suggestions worked 100%.
“Account” was the name of two labels that had different modes. Changing the mode so they agreed and using the merge function fixed that.
Some of the information was numeric, some was alphabetic. I imagine if I had tried to merge all that into one number field, something undesirable could happen? I went with plain text as the mode for all.
A half-dozen entries had a sneaky blank character space after the email address — not any more.
Life is good. Thanks for the prompt attention!
