Duplicate Category Entries

Why do I have duplicate entries in the categories after syncing? I have had to manually delete entries and now I’m afraid to update the software.

Thank you for using Codebook and posting to the discussion forum, although I’m sorry to hear about the unexpected duplicate entries.

I have a few questions:

  1. Did you import Codebook data via CSV import on one of your machines?
  2. Did you create identical entries on multiple devices?
  3. What devices do you use Codebook on?
  4. Which sync method are you using (Google Drive, Dropbox, Desktop WiFi)?

Codebook uses a unique identifier internally for each entry. Even if two entries have the exact same name/data, if they were created on separate devices they would still be considered unique (and result in duplication).
