Multiple Google drive accounts

Years ago I started syncing Codebook to one of my Google Drive accounts. I have 3 and would like to consolidate to one. I have looked at all 3 account drives and even searched for hidden folders/files but cannot fine any current zetetic data files. My devices are properly syncing. How can I determine which Google account is the active current account which Codebook is using?

Hi @Simpson4027

Thanks for using Codebook and for posting to the discussion forum. I’ll be happy to help.

If you have a Codebook device which is currently still syncing to Google Drive, the easiest way to determine this is to see which email address is associated with the linked Google Drive account. Here are the steps to do that:

Codebook on Mobile Devices

Login to Codebook and navigate to the Sync screen, your email address should be listed in the Account row

Codebook on Desktop/Laptops

Login to Codebook
macOS: Codebook menu > Settings > Sync Tab, your email address associated with the linked Google Drive account will be listed near the bottom with a sign out button
Windows: File menu > Preferences > Sync Tab, your email address associated with the linked Google Drive account will be listed near the bottom with a sign out button

Codebook Synced Encrypted Files Location in Google Drive

Back in March of last year, we released updates on all Codebook clients which changed the location of the encrypted files stored by Codebook in your Google Drive account: Codebook Google Drive Permission Change | Zetetic

The new location of the files is a hidden AppData folder within the Google Drive interface and only Codebook is able to access them. This change also limits Codebook’s permissions for Google Drive so it is only allowed to access files in that location (and not anywhere else in your Google Drive).

You’re able to view the size of the files which are stored in Codebook in the Google Drive web interface which should allow you to determine which Google Drive account you are syncing with as well.

Here’s how you access it in the Google Drive web interface:

  1. Login to Google Drive using a web browser.
  2. Click the Sprocket/Gear symbol in the upper right hand corner and select Settings
  3. In the left hand panel of then next page select Manage Apps
  4. If your Google Drive account was linked with Codebook and has synced Codebook data to it, Codebook will be listed in the managed apps and will display the size it’s using. I’ve included a screenshot example below.

Let me know if this allows you to determine which Google Drive account you’re syncing with and if there’s anything else we can do to assist.

PERFECT! You answered all my questions. Thanks so much.
