Upgraded to a New Mac and having issues with Codebook

Codebook was part of the migration data that came from my old MBP running an older MacOS. I have touch Id enabled on the new Mac (OS15.5) and in Codebook (5.2.7) on its settings. Codebook runs, its touch ID function works to open Codebook, but on Safari, Codebook is not recognized as a choice when logging into a site for picking passwords automatically, the only choice that currently appears is Apple’s own password manager, where before there would be. dropdown that included Codebook as a choice.

Any ideas on a setting in the MacOS or in Codebook on how I get other apps to see Codebook as a choice for passwords?

Thanks!

Update: Got it Password Auto Fill Settings, have to turn Codebook On there! Nevermind…

Hi @SneakPeak

Thanks for using Codebook and reaching out, although I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with Codebook after migration to a new Mac. We received your support request email and responded to that, I’l repeat the higher level overview of the suggestions in case anyone else runs into the same issue and finds this forum thread:

Touch ID Issue

While most of your data transfers during the migration. One thing that doesn’t transfer (by Apple’s design) is the data stored in the Secure Enclave (where your Codebook Master Password data is stored when enabling Touch Id). Because of this, you’ll need to login once using your Codebook Master Password and then disable/re-enable the Touch ID setting to get it working again. That setting can be found at

Codebook menu > Settings > Locking Tab > Enable Touch ID Login

Password AutoFill not appearing issue

You most likely need to enable Codebook Password AutoFill Extension on your new system. Here are the steps to do that:

  1. Go to Apple menu > System Settings > General > AutoFill & Passwords
  2. Is Codebook present there? If so, is the switch turned on next to it? If it’s on, turn it off and on again, if it’s off, turn it on.

Thanks much. I had managed to figure it out prior to your reply, but still appreciate the attention. Problem solved. Thank you.
