when i enter information such a phone number or password it says invalid key.
please help.
thank you.
Hi @lost, my apologies for the delayed response here! Thanks for posting to the forum, though I’m sorry about the problem you are seeing.
Is this inquiry about a license key for the SQLCipher library? Or is it about the Sync Key used by our password manager Codebook?
Hi,
Thank you for your response.
I included a photo to show you what I mean.
Thank you for your help

Hi @lost, no problem!
So, “Invalid Key” is what Codebook will display for a Field’s value if the Label is set to 2-Step Key (TOTP). In other words, it treats the value stored in the Field as a key to be used for generating a numerical code, something like 060339
. But it looks like you want this to be a Password field, judging by the label name, Pw
, is that correct?
To change this behavior:
- Sign into Codebook on your Mac
- Go to the File menu and choose “Customize Labels…”
- Look for the Label named
Pw
in the table - Set the Mode for that Label to
Password
Please let us know if that does the trick and if you have any more questions.

Thank you for your help. I will try later on and get back to you.
