The next feature release of Codebook is coming soon and it includes Passkeys support! Passkeys are a more secure alternative to passwords.
Codebook will securely support Passkey registration, synchronization, and authentication. Once a Passkey is registered and synced on one Codebook device, it can be used on any Codebook device which supports Passkeys to securely sign in to that service, website, or application.
We’re looking for engaged beta testers who would like to get early access and provide feedback to improve the feature. You’ll need at least one device which meets the minimum system requirements to be able to use Passkeys in Codebook. Those requirements are:
There are some new beta builds available with adjustments and issue fixes based on your feedback and testing. Thank you for beta testing and providing feedback.
Here’s the summary of changes:
iOS
Excludes passkey’s current entry from move passkey search results
Fixes artifact overlay on passkeys tableview cell when toggling edit mode on then off again
Fixes freeze when signing into Codebook Cloud after revoking access
Fixes crash when swiping to delete a passkey and adds minus button when in edit mode to trigger passkey deletion
macOS
Excludes passkey’s current entry from move passkey search results
Fixes crash when changing master password with touch id enabled and canceling out of the touch id prompt or a touch id error occurs
Fixes window layout issues on Passkeys Registration view
Fixes signal 11 crashes
For iOS, you should be automatically notified via TestFlight of the new beta build being available.
For macOS, you should be able to download the disk image at the same location as the original beta email outlined.
There are still outstanding issues with registering/using Passkeys with a certain website/service that we’re working on.
