Hi @sgrune
When you get the chance, would you go into TestFlight and update to version 3.3.5 (535)? Thanks!
Hi @sgrune

Hey all, I am having a similar problem when I upgraded to 3.2.4. One of my Macs consistently hangs at 96% with dropbox. I have changed records on both sides. An Integrity check found orphans and unlabeled fields but re-running after still hangs.
When I try to Restore from Dropbox, nothing happens but Codebook hangs. My other desktops are working fine.
Do you have pending changes on the Desktop that isn’t syncing?
If you don’t have any pending changes, could you try resetting Codebook by following the instructions in this post under for OS X: Resetting Codebook then re-try restoring from Dropbox?
Thanks!
Updated. Tried a sync and it crashed at 80%. The is no error message. Codebook just shuts down completely.
I do have pending changes on the desktop.
Just FYI, I’m out of state with no access to my computer until Monday
Thanks for the response and sorry if there was a misunderstanding. My previous question about changes on the Desktop side was directed at myronm (I did see from your previous respond to @developernotes that you have changes pending on both sides).
While we’re unable to reproduce this issue using any of our databases, I have seen the crash reports come in from the most recent beta versions. Unfortunately they don’t lead us to a definitive conclusion on what the cause could be without further investigating the state of your database.
I understand most of this isn’t possible at the moment because you’re traveling, but here are some options for when you return:
If you’d like to get back up and running right away:
windows-export.csv
ios-export.csv
windows-export.csv
file from earlier. At this point you should have all records that were on your Windows machine.Import the ios-export.csv
the same way as we did in step 7 (This will cause your records to duplicate and you’ll need to go through and delete the ones that are invalid).
Visually compare the CSV records from ios-export.csv
to what’s currently in your Codebook database to determine what the differences are and add those.
Use a diff tool, like Meld, kdiff or WinMerge to compare the two csv’s (windows-export.csv
and ios-export.csv
) which will highlight the differences. At which point you can delete all rows that aren’t different in ios-export.csv
(Except the header row - Entry…Category…Password) and do File → Import of this adjusted csv.
Alternatively if you’d like to continue troubleshooting this issue, I have a few additional questions:

Thank you for your patience as we help work through this issue.

Micah,
I have the latest version of TestFlight installed. I also followed your instructions below.
When I performed an overwrite from my computer to Dropbox, and a restore from my iPhone to Dropbox, both worked correctly. I them make changes to both the desktop and my iPhone, and performed syncs to Dropbox, and those both worked correctly.
I looks like all is good.
Thanks much,
Steve
Steve,
Excellent! Glad we could help.

OUCH! Deleting the local DB, restoring, and re-entering new records worked. Painful!
