The beta test for the new Secure Sharing feature began earlier this afternoon. If you signed up for the beta test in response to our call for testers, you should have gotten an email today with instructions on downloading the beta updates for Codebook and how to access the new feature. If you didn’t get the email[1], please check your spam/junk folders, and if you still don’t see it just reach out to us at support@zetetic.net.
We made this beta test available to previous beta testers of Codebook Cloud for the time being, but we look forward to opening it up to more customers after we get some initial feedback and see if there are any major issues.
Thanks as always for helping us test the next version of Codebook, we look forward to your feedback! You can email us directly at support@zetetic.net or share your thoughts here on the forum.

Installed the beta on both, and here are the problems.
On Windows 11: I keep getting the “Incorrect Master Password” on the login screen. Rebooting did not help.
On Android: I have no problem logging in. However, as soon as I tap/choose any entry, the app closes. Reopening the app and trying again, the app closes and I get a message “Codebook Keeps Closing”. Do it often enough and Android sends a notification that Codebook is crashing frequently. Rebooting does not help.
That’s on Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 13.
Thank you for offering to help beta test the new versions of Codebook, I’m sorry to hear you experienced troubles. To troubleshoot the Window issue, it would be good to gather some additional log information. To do so, perform the following steps:
Make sure Codebook for Windows is not currently running. Look for the Codebook icon in the notification area within the Windows taskbar (usually in the lower right corner). If you see a Codebook icon, right-click and choose Exit Codebook.
Launch a Command Prompt. You can do this by clicking on the Windows Start button within the taskbar and typing Command Prompt. Launch the program when listed in the results.
Type the following commands, then press enter after each line:
cd "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Zetetic LLC\Codebook"
Codebook.exe --debug
This should launch Codebook for Windows, displaying the login window along with a log window as well. Please attempt to login, when you receive the error switch to the log window, click the Copy button in the toolbar and send the log data for review to support@zetetic.net. This will not contain sensitive information.
As for Codebook for Android, we will continue to review the crash logs reported from the device and will reach out with more information shortly. Thank you for your patience.
An update: we have found and fixed these initial crashers noted by @leonid55 for Android and Windows. The updated Windows build is available at the download link[1] in the sharing beta test email, and the updated Android build should be available soon (as Google Play approves it).
I can’t download the Android version : – the major impediment if I login to the playstore with my latest email (has .dan. in the middle, it tells me I’m a registered under different name for beta testing. If I login to play store with that old account, they don’t recognize me a tester for codebook. Oy Vey. They say for you to drop the older one (without .dan.) go with the one that I’m signed in here with (should be with .dan. in the middle). Let me know when and I’ll try again.
I just checked and the email address we have for you on the access list appears to match exactly the one that is shown on your user profile to us here on the forum.
Because I may not be understanding exactly what’s wrong, can you launch the Settings app on your Android device, tap the account icon at the top right of the Settings view to show your Google Account that is being used on the device, and check the email address shown there?
If that’s not the one we are currently using, perhaps send us that one via private message (or support mail) and we can try adding that to the list?
If what you see there is what you want to be using (the one with .dan in the middle), perhaps I need to try something else.
