Sometimes our customers (and we) get a message while updating/installing Codebook from the Mac App Store that “The application could not be downloaded,” or that the application is “corrupted or damaged.” There are a few things we’ve found that can fix the issue:
Sign out of the App Store and sign back in
- Launch the App Store app on your Mac
- From the menu bar choose Store -> Sign Out
- Visit the Codebook page in the App Store (click here)
- Click on the Install or Update button
Move the existing copy of Codebook out of the way
- Quit Codebook if running already
- Switch to Finder
- From the menu bar select Go -> Applications (⇧+⌘+A)
- Locate Codebook and remove it from Applications
- Visit the Codebook page in the App Store (click here)
- Click on the Install button
Reboot your Mac
- Reboot your Mac. Yeah, we know. But this seems to work.
- Launch the App Store app after reboot
- Visit the Codebook page in the App Store (click here)
- Click on the Install button
If you continue to have this problem
We’ll want to hear from you, please get in touch. However, it may not be a bad idea to reach out to App Store support directly for help with your problem.
