When trying to add a new device to be scanned…the Codebook Backup Code when scanned says that there is no usable data
Thanks for your support of Codebook and for reaching out, although I’m sorry to hear about the trouble when attempting to import your Codebook Sync Key by scanning the Sync Key QR Code. I’ll be happy to help.
Your Codebook Sync Key QR Code is encrypted with using your Codebook Master Password as key material, so it won’t be able to be scanned using the standard camera application (or other QR Code scanning apps). You’ll need to scan the Sync Key QR Code within Codebook itself.
There are instructions for doing that here: Codebook Help - Setup Your Sync Key (under “If you have already created a Sync Key in another copy of Codebook”).
