I came across the need to share an entry I made on my Codebook to my wife’s account. The ability for Codebook to see another Codebook in “share” mode and confirm via a mutual displayed code. Entries in Codebook could be checked and those entries are then selected to be shared. The other Codebook would select sharing and they would scan for each other via (Bluetooth?). When you choose your target, a mutual code would be shown to confirm. Then those entries would transfer over. Bringing the categories assigned to the incoming entries or maybe a A <> B mapping?
Not used a lot, but having would be awesome when needed.
Hey@themadcow, Thanks for reaching out to us on Discuss. You must be reading our minds, although on a little bit of a different path. We are currently working on the ability for one Codebook Cloud user to share an entry with another Codebook Cloud user. The POC is almost done and then we will start to do some internal testing and then build out the UI elements for each platform. We will certainly post out or progress on our blog (Blog | Zetetic) so please keep an eye out for notes on our progress.
Cheers,
Don
Thanks Don, for the update. I realize that CodeBook Cloud is probably the future, but I’m resisting it for now. I suppose I’ll need to to keep taking advantage of the nifty features. Thanks!
Great to hear! This would simplify the exchange of reserved information between trusted people in a group, team, etc.
I surely second this.
Mirco
@mirmalag Thanks for the post Mirco and I hope you are still enjoying the Codebook Cloud auto-sync service. We will probably be reaching out to CB5 beta testers like yourself when we are ready for external testing of the new feature.
Cheers,
Don
