I have read through as many discussions as I could locate and tried all solutions mentioned but still unsuccessful. I’m trying to sync codebook on note 9 with windows 10 desktop. I’ve turned off firewalls and nothing seems to work. Suggestions please!
Hi @crewboss
I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with sync. Would you try reviewing this document for steps to resolve WiFi sync?
Would you give that a try and let us know your results?
Unfortunately, my level of expertise to do such a thing does not exist. Maybe I should have explored this before paying for the license. Would you by chance have step by step instructions on how to configure my software to all connections to port 57419? If not, are there any other options?
Thank you
Hi @crewboss
We would be happy to help. The easiest approach at first might be to disable any firewalls you may have running. This support article from Microsoft will show you how to temporarily disable the Windows Defender firewall.
Once you have done that, login to Codebook for Windows, verify that you have selected Desktop WiFi from the preferences window and verify the status bar in the main Codebook window states Started listener on Port 57419
. Next, login to Codebook for Android and select the Sync screen. Make sure the operation row shows Sync
, and the mode row shows Desktop WiFi
. Next, tap Browse Network
. If you don’t see your Windows machine name listed, you can tap the button at the top which will allow you to manually enter the IP address of your Windows machine. You can access the IP address of your Windows machine by following these instructions. Once you have done this you should be able to initiate a sync.
Would you give that a try and let us know your results?
Thank you so very much. Everything works just fine. Again, thank you.
Hi @crewboss
That is excellent news, we are happy you were able to synchronize. Take care!
