Codebook reset?

Hello - today we installed a Codebook on Windows 10, but the user entered a new master password because that’s what the prompt said.

We tried entering a new device via the existing device’s sync key, and setting up syncing to Google Drive, but nothing would sync.

We shut down Codebook, deleted the %APPDATA%\Zetetic LLC\Strip folder, and reinstalled, then entered the existing master password. But, after setting up the sync key again, we are still seeing the same phenomenon: Nothing syncs.

Thanks for using Codebook and posting to the discussion forum, although I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with data not syncing. A few questions to get started:

  • What version of Codebook for Windows are you running?
  • What other devices are syncing with this Google Drive account? What version of Codebook are they on?
  • If other devices are syncing with this Google Drive account, are they successfully transferring data?
  • Could you send over the sync log from Codebook for Windows (the device which isn’t syncing). The instructions to capture the sync log is below

Login to Codebook for Windows and select the Help → About menu item located within the main window of the application. Once viewing the About window, click on the Codebook logo 4 times to enable debug mode. Next, close the About window, select the Help → View Log Window menu item. Please initiate a synchronization. Once the error occurs, please select the File → Copy menu from the log window to copy the sync log to your clipboard for sending.
